Myimbarr supports the care for Aboriginal children and young people, keeping them in permanent, safe, and culturally connected environments.

Myimbarr is IAC’s child, youth, and family service. Through the Permanency Support Program, we aim to give every Aboriginal child and young person a loving home for life, whether that be with parents, extended family or kin, or through other carer arrangements.

We provide tailored and culturally appropriate services to vulnerable children in out-of-home care so that they can grow up in stable, secure, and loving homes.

What is Permanency?

Myimbarr’s Permanency Support aims to place Aboriginal children, young people, and their families within a strengthened environment to remain in safe, connected, and in culturally rich settings, supported by their relatives, kin, and community.

We support Aboriginal children and help empower them to be raised with strong cultural and community connections, assisting them to develop a sense of belonging and a strong identity.

Preservation

The vision and aim of the Preservation Program are for more children and young people to remain safe at home with their families; are healthy and thriving, and have improved long term outcomes. Our Myimbarr team work with families to achieve these long-term preservation outcomes.
